Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday visited flood-hit areas in Telangana, pledging necessary central assistance to help farmers recover from crop losses.

In a critical reference to the previous BRS regime, he claimed that non-utilization and diversion of central funds, alongside the non-implementation of vital schemes like the PM crop insurance, hindered state benefits during the current crisis.

Interacting with farmers in Khammam district, Chouhan stated that while the current disaster is significant, the previous government's mishandling further complicates finding a resolution. The minister emphasized that both the Central and state governments would collaborate on short- and long-term solutions to address the damage.
