A shocking video depicting a woman being raped on a public footpath in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, has gone viral, inciting widespread outrage and a blame game between Congress and the ruling BJP. The crime, which occurred on September 4, was captured by passersby on their mobile phones, according to police reports.

Police authorities acted swiftly after the woman's complaint, arresting the accused, identified as Lokesh, within two hours on the same day. The woman was given immediate medical attention, and Lokesh was presented before the court the following day, where he was remanded to jail. City Superintendent of Police, Om Prakash Mishra, confirmed the sequence of events and the usage of the video as evidence.

As the video gained traction on social media, Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari criticized Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and PM Modi for their silence on the issue. In response, BJP MP VD Sharma defended the government's quick action and accused Congress of generating controversy. Congress leader Pramod Tiwari further condemned the BJP-ruled states, expressing nationwide shame over the incident.
