A case has been registered against NCP-SCP leader Jitendra Awhad for allegedly misleading the public by spreading false information about the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana and assistance to farmers. The case was filed at Sambhajinagar MIDC Waluj Police Station under Section 353(2) of BNS for allegedly defaming the government with incorrect information.

According to allegations, Awhad falsely cited a governmental GR, claiming that the government had ceased providing aid to families of suicide victims. The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, launched by the Maharashtra government on August 17, aims to financially empower women by providing Rs 1,500 per month to those aged 21-65 from families earning less than Rs 2.5 lakh annually.

The scheme targets financially disadvantaged women specifically. Despite rumors, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde clarified that the implementation of this flagship scheme would not halt other initiatives aimed at supporting families of farmers who died by suicide. Shinde emphasized continued support through various government schemes.

In previous statements, Chief Minister Shinde expressed satisfaction with the positive impact of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana on beneficiaries. He noted that the funds would help women educate their children, pay for medical expenses, and enhance their small businesses. The government remains committed to empowering women and making them more self-reliant.
