The Congress party unveiled the 'Pyari Didi Yojana' on Monday, a scheme promising a monthly financial aid of Rs 2,500 to women in Delhi, contingent on their election victory in the capital.

Modeled after Karnataka's success, the plan was announced by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, who emphasized its aim to empower women financially. This initiative is set to be implemented at the first Cabinet meeting if the Congress secures power.

Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav supported the announcement, criticizing the current administration while promising further necessary schemes. The scheme's unveiling comes ahead of the February elections for the Delhi Assembly.
