Women in Varanasi are brimming with excitement as they celebrate the Haritalika Teej festival. Observing a Nirjala fast, they wholeheartedly wish for the prolonged lives of their husbands.

Early morning activities include applying mehndi and preparing for prayers. Devotees took a holy dip in the Ganga River, marking the significance of Haritalika Teej with prayers for their husbands. The markets are bustling with worship and adornment items as devotees immerse themselves in the festive spirit.

In Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj, devotees similarly observed the festival by taking a holy dip and offering prayers at Sangam. The cultural and religious importance of Teej is deeply felt in Varanasi, especially due to its association with Shiva and Parvati. Women enthusiastically dress up, shop, and prepare special dishes to mark the occasion.

This fast is traditionally observed without water, engaging women in a day-long event of worship, rituals, and adornment, concluding with a feast the following morning. Haritalika Teej encapsulates joy and devotion, celebrating the divine bond of Shiva and Parvati. (ANI)
