Uttarakhand Government Undertakes Major Bureaucratic Shuffle

The Uttarakhand government has transferred 40 IAS officers and 4 PCS officers, reassigning district magistrates in key areas, including Dehradun. In a sweeping administrative reshuffle, the Uttarakhand government has transferred 40 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and four Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers, according to an order released on Wednesday night. The reshuffle includes changes to the district magistrates of major districts, including the capital city Dehradun.

Savin Bansal of the 2009 IAS batch has been appointed as the new District Magistrate (DM) of Dehradun, replacing Sonika. Sonika will now helm the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) alongside roles as Additional Secretary and Registrar in Cooperatives. In another key move, Dhiraj Garbyal has been reassigned from his position as District Magistrate of Haridwar to Additional Secretary, Public Works Department (PWD) and Commissioner of Rural Development. Karmendra Singh will take over as the new District Magistrate of Haridwar.

Reena Joshi, the former District Magistrate of Pithoragarh, has been appointed as Additional Secretary Personnel, while Vinod Giri Goswami has been designated as the new District Magistrate of Pithoragarh. Alok Kumar Pandey will replace Vineet Tomar as the new District Magistrate of Almora. Ashish Bhatgai has been named the DM of Bageshwar, succeeding Anuradha Pal.

In Chamoli district, Himanshu Khurana has been relieved of his duties as District Magistrate, with Sandeep Tiwari taking over the position.
