KT Rama Rao, the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), on Tuesday accused Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of disseminating inaccurate information on the death toll from the recent severe floods. KTR posted on X, highlighting a total of 31 fatalities and criticizing the government's handling of the crisis.

Accusing CM Reddy of being disrespectful, KTR said, 'Ignoring his death, lying about their death, not considering their death... I request the Telangana government to stop peddling lies. You had announced yesterday that only 16 people died. But please ask your team to check this list and help all the families.'

CM Reddy had earlier stated that 16 people lost their lives due to heavy rainfall, reporting extensive damage to crops, infrastructure, and a preliminary financial loss of ₹5,438 crore. Emphasizing the need to tackle the encroachment around lakes, Reddy directed officials to report on and address such issues. He asserted that preserving ecosystems is essential to prevent similar future calamities.
