Political Motives? Ukrainian Power Grid Leaders Resign Over CEO Dismissal
Two independent members of the supervisory board of Ukraine's national power grid operator resigned, alleging political motives behind the dismissal of the operator's head, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi. The decision follows Kudrytskyi's report on grid protection during Russian attacks. The resigning members warned that the move could impact international cooperation.
In a dramatic turn of events, two independent supervisory board members of Ukraine's national power grid operator have resigned amid claims of political interference. The resignations, which occurred on Tuesday, cite the purportedly politically motivated dismissal of the operator's head, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, as the primary reason.
Kudrytskyi's dismissal came shortly after he presented a report detailing efforts to protect grid facilities amidst intensified Russian attacks. "There are no valid grounds for this decision, and it is politically motivated," stated Daniel Dobbeni and Peder Andreasen, the resigning members.
The move has sparked concerns over Ukrenergo's operations and its ability to maintain international support crucial for its functioning and recovery efforts. This development could potentially strain the company's relationship with European collaborators, posing challenges for Ukraine's energy sector during a time of crisis.
