Former Karnataka Chief Minister SM Krishna has made a full recovery and was discharged from Manipal Hospital on Wednesday, according to a statement from the hospital. After being admitted with respiratory issues months ago, Krishna was treated under the supervision of Dr Satyanarayana and Dr Sunil Karanth along with the hospital's critical care team.

Manipal Hospital and the entire critical care team expressed their well-wishes for Krishna's continued recovery. He was initially hospitalized on April 30 for a minor ailment and was subsequently placed in the ICU under intensive medical care.

At 91, Krishna has held notable positions, including External Affairs Minister during the UPA government and Governor of Maharashtra. He served as Karnataka's Chief Minister from October 11, 1999, to May 28, 2004. After nearly five decades with the Congress, he joined the BJP in March 2017 and retired from active politics last year.
