Harbour Energy, Britain's largest North Sea oil and gas producer, announced on Tuesday that it expects to finalize the acquisition of Wintershall Dea's assets in early September, ahead of the initially forecasted fourth-quarter schedule.

Morning trade saw Harbour's shares rise by 7.2% to 301.10p. The company has made notable progress in satisfying regulatory conditions, including approvals in Mexico.

The acquisition, valued at $11.2 billion, will see Harbour expand its oil and gas operations across multiple regions including the United Kingdom, Norway, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Mexico. Analyst Ashley Kelty from Panmure Liberum highlighted the acquisition's potential to enhance Harbour's revenues for the fiscal year 2024.
