President Droupadi Murmu, accompanied by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and ISRO Chairman S Somanath, inaugurated an exhibition showcasing space technologies and achievements at Bharat Mandapam on India's maiden National Space Day.

President Murmu expressed her pride in India's space accomplishments, particularly the Chandrayaan missions, and congratulated the nation on celebrating its first National Space Day. She emphasized the significance of space exploration in various sectors, including health, transportation, and information technology.

She also praised the involvement of private players in the space sector, noting the rise of space start-ups in India and commended ISRO's plan to make space missions debris-free by 2030.

The theme for the celebration was "Touching Lives While Touching the Moon: India's Space Saga," commemorating Chandrayaan-3's historic landing on the lunar South Pole.
