Kaziranga National Park Bolstered with Rs 6 Crore MoU for Wildlife Protection

The Anil Agarwal Foundation (AAF), through its flagship initiative The Animal Care Organization (TACO), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve to provide enhanced surveillance and accommodation for frontline conservation workers. The agreement, part of TACO's 'Mission Vanraksha' project, aims to bolster the protection of endangered species such as the Greater One-Horned Rhino, Asiatic Elephant, and Bengal Tiger.
The MoU, outlining a Rs 6 crore grant to be utilized over three years, was signed in the presence of Assam's Minister of Environment & Forest, Act East Policy Affairs, and Welfare of Minorities Chandra Mohan Patowary. The minister highlighted the state's dedication to preserving its natural heritage, emphasizing the importance of supporting the welfare of forest frontline workers to maintain the park's biodiversity and beauty.
Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Chairperson, Hindustan Zinc Ltd, noted the significant impact of improved facilities for workers, especially women forest guards, within the conservation framework. The enhanced infrastructure aims to support both wildlife and local communities, aligning with TACO's holistic 'One Health' approach. This collaboration represents a pivotal step in conservation efforts at Kaziranga National Park.
