Chief Minister Dhami Inspects Cloudburst-Hit Tehri Garhwal

Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami conducted an aerial survey and field inspection of the damage caused by a cloudburst and heavy rains in Ghansali tehsil, Tehri Garhwal district. He assured affected residents of immediate rehabilitation and government compensation while instructing officials to expedite relief efforts.

Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami on Thursday conducted an aerial survey and field inspection of the damage inflicted by a cloudburst and heavy rains in Ghutu, Panjya, and Devling areas of Ghansali tehsil in Tehri Garhwal district. Addressing the media, Dhami emphasized that he has directed the District Administration to thoroughly assess all affected villages and provide necessary assistance to the victims.

'A lot of damage has occurred due to the cloudburst and heavy rains. I have instructed the District Administration to assess all villages where the incidents took place and directions have been provided to help all the people who have been affected by the calamity,' Dhami stated. He further mentioned that officials are also tasked with alerting residents about potential natural disasters in advance.

The Chief Minister assured that swift rehabilitation efforts would be initiated and compensation for the damages would be provided by the government. Upon reaching Ghutthu-Panjya-Devling, Dhami conducted an on-ground inspection of ongoing relief and rescue operations. He personally met with affected residents, promising comprehensive support.

Instructions have been issued for officials to ensure the safe relocation of affected individuals, alongside adequate food and accommodation arrangements. Additionally, officials were directed to expedite reconstruction work by submitting detailed assessment reports of the impacted areas. Earlier, CM Dhami highlighted the extensive relief work undertaken by the government and administration in response to the disaster in the Ghansali area of Tehri district.

'There has been a significant disaster in the Ghansali Assembly Constituency. The cloudburst has caused extensive damage, including the death of cattle and destruction of buildings. Roads, along with other government and private properties, have sustained major damage,' Dhami stated.
