Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the three-day Nanda Devi Lokjat Fair at Kurud in Chamoli district on Wednesday. Dhami visited Maa Nanda, offered prayers, and wished for the state's happiness and prosperity.

During the event, the Chief Minister announced the construction of sports grounds in Nandanagar, Narayanbagh, and Dewal, security work on the Pranamati River banks, and flood protection in Dhadarbagh of Tharali. He also declared the Nanda Devi Lokjat Fair a state fair and announced upgrading Nandanagar Hospital to a District Hospital. Dhami highlighted the importance of traditional fairs in preserving culture and announced that the government is adding new dimensions to these events.

The Chief Minister also addressed the issue of recruitment examinations, noting that the state government has effectively curbed cheating through anti-cheating laws, resulting in over 100 arrests. Dhami emphasized that more than 16,000 youths have received appointment letters due to the government's transparent examination processes.

Furthermore, he noted that sustainable development projects are rapidly progressing, positioning Uttarakhand as the leader in sustainable development in the country. He praised the development work at Badrinath and Kedarnath under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance.
