Four individuals lost their lives and three others, including two children, sustained injuries in a tragic collision on National Highway-2 on Wednesday morning, according to local police.

The incident occurred at 6:30 am near Pilkhar village on the Etawah-Kanpur section of the highway. Ikdil police station in-charge Bhim Sen Pauniya stated that the car, heading from Delhi to Hamirpur-Mahoba, crashed into a stationary truck after the driver fell asleep at the wheel.

The impact was so severe that the front of the car was completely crushed. The deceased have been identified as Shiv Narayan (50), Shobha Rani (50), Ashu Sadapuri (28), and Ram Autar Prajapati (60). The injured victims were transported to the district hospital in Etawah. Police confirmed that legal formalities have been completed and normal traffic has resumed.
