Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai marked Raksha Bandhan by tying Rakhi to sanitary workers in the state capital on Monday. In celebration, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) also gifted women with fare-free travel on Bhopal City Link Limited (BCLL) buses.

Mayor Rai and State Cabinet Minister Vishwas Sarang inspected the BCLL buses, offering their greetings on the occasion. 'Sanitary workers have worked diligently to maintain the city's cleanliness, contributing to the health of Bhopal's residents,' said Mayor Rai. 'To honor their efforts, I tied rakhis to our sanitary worker brothers.'

Applauding the fare-free bus initiative, Minister Sarang described it as a commendable move with a positive impact. 'On Raksha Bandhan, Bhopal Municipal Corporation's decision to provide free bus fares for women is a meaningful gesture,' he said. 'I met with women passengers and extended my congratulations.'
