The Uttar Pradesh government is set to train 30,000 young individuals as 'Surya Mitras' to fulfill its ambitious goal of installing solar panels on the rooftops of every house in the state.
Following the PM Surya Ghar Yojana launched last year, which aims for one crore solar rooftops nationally, the state has already seen over 25 lakh installations. This initiative will require a substantial pool of skilled workers, according to a senior official from the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).
To develop this workforce, UPNEDA plans to train individuals at district centers and ITIs. The National Solar Energy Mission has outlined the training, which includes comprehensive classroom, practical, and on-the-job sessions. Graduates receive help in finding employment as part of the effort to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision.
