Two Soldiers Injured in Fresh Anantnag Encounter, Operations Continue

Two soldiers were injured during an encounter with terrorists in the Kokernag area of Anantnag, according to officials. The injured personnel have been evacuated, and operations are currently ongoing.
The Indian Army's Chinar Corps confirmed the situation in a post on X. It noted that a Joint Operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs, involving the Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and CRPF. 'Contact was established and a firefight ensued. Two personnel have been injured and evacuated from the area. Operations are in progress,' read the post.
Meanwhile, another encounter erupted earlier in the day in the Ahlan Gagarmandu area of Anantnag district, police said. 'Encounter has started at Ahlan Gagarmandu area of District Anantnag. Police and Security forces are on the job,' stated a post on the official X handle of Kashmir Zone Police. Additionally, the Jammu and Kashmir Police released sketches of four terrorists last seen in Dhoks of Malhar, Bani, and Seojdhar in Kathua district. A reward of Rs 5 lakh has been offered for information leading to their capture.
The incident comes on the heels of a series of terror attacks in the Jammu region, including an attack on an army convoy in Kathua and recent encounters in Doda and Udhampur.
