Delhi Police Captures ISIS-Linked Terrorist Ahead of Independence Day

The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested Rizwan Ali, an ISIS module terrorist with a Rs 3 lakh bounty on his head, just days before Independence Day. Security measures have been heightened across the city and in Punjab to ensure national safety.

The Delhi Police Special Cell has apprehended Rizwan Ali, an ISIS module terrorist, ahead of Independence Day celebrations in the national capital, an official said. Rizwan, a resident of Daryaganj in Delhi, had a Rs 3 lakh bounty on his head, announced by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). His involvement in terror activities and his presence in Delhi prior to Independence Day are being closely examined.

Special Cell officials confirmed that the ISIS module terrorist identified as Rizwan Ali has been arrested. The NIA had declared a bounty of Rs 3 lakh on him. Rizwan, a resident of Daryaganj, Delhi, was part of the Pune Module of ISIS and had been absconding. His photograph was released by the NIA along with other wanted men with terror links.

Earlier, Delhi Police heightened security arrangements and put up posters of various terrorists linked with Al-Qaeda and Khalistan. Posters were disseminated across the city encouraging public cooperation in catching the terrorists. Informants providing any information regarding the terrorists will be 'suitably' rewarded, with confidentiality maintained.

Police stated these measures are aimed at raising public awareness and helping track the terrorists. Of the fifteen terrorists mentioned in the posters, six are associated with Al-Qaeda.

Punajb police have also heightened security by carrying out spot searches at bus stands across the state. The searches were conducted simultaneously in all 28 police districts with police teams and sniffer dogs frisking individuals arriving and departing at bus stands.
