Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has voiced support for INDIA alliance chief ministers' decision to boycott the upcoming NITI Aayog meeting. Raut has accused the government and NITI Aayog of treating non-NDA states unfairly.
Raut said, "Chief Ministers of the INDIA bloc have almost decided not to attend the NITI Aayog meeting. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin had earlier confirmed his absence, while others like Arvind Kejriwal, now in jail, and Telangana's CM have also expressed their reluctance due to the perceived bias in NITI Aayog's operations, as evidenced in the latest budget."
Earlier, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin criticized the BJP government regarding the Union Budget, calling it a "vengeful act" against states opposing the BJP. Stalin's initial announcement to boycott the meeting has since been echoed by Congress CMs Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu (Himachal Pradesh), Siddaramaiah (Karnataka), and Revanth Reddy (Telangana). This year's NITI Aayog meeting theme is 'Vikisit Bharat@2047,' focusing on making India a developed nation. The meeting aims to enhance governance and collaboration between central and state governments to improve life quality for rural and urban populations.
