Indian Army Foils BAT Attack in Kupwara: One Terrorist Killed, One Soldier Martyred

In a significant development, the Indian Army successfully thwarted an assault by the Pakistan Border Action Team (BAT) along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district, Jammu and Kashmir. During the skirmish, a Pakistani terrorist was killed while an Indian soldier lost his life. Additionally, four Indian soldiers, including a Major, sustained injuries.
According to defence sources, the BAT team that orchestrated the attack is suspected of comprising regular Pakistani Army troopers, including Special Services Group (SSG) commandos, who frequently collaborate with terrorist organizations. The Indian Army's prompt response ensured that all injured personnel were evacuated for medical treatment.
The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army reported the exchange of fire with unidentified individuals at a forward post in Kamkari, Macchal Sector along the LoC. One Pakistani national was killed, and two Indian soldiers were injured and subsequently evacuated. The incident marks a notable rise in terror activities in the Jammu region, with recent attacks on an army convoy in Kathua and encounters in Doda and Udhampur.
