Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Friday that Agniveers, after serving the country, will receive preferential treatment in recruitment for the UP Police and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) forces. He emphasized that the nation stands to gain significantly from the infusion of trained and disciplined young soldiers.

Speaking from his official residence ahead of the NITI Aayog meeting in New Delhi, Adityanath took a sharp stance against the opposition. He accused them of consistently creating obstacles and spreading misinformation against progress and reform. He highlighted India's achievement as the world's fifth-largest economy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

Adityanath underscored the importance of periodic reforms in driving progress and prosperity. He pointed out significant advancements in various sectors over the past decade, particularly in the modernization and self-reliance of the Indian Army. The development of the Defence Industrial Corridor in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, with substantial investments, is a testament to this effort.

The Chief Minister detailed the advancements in the Defence Industrial Corridor, mentioning the significant work by Bharat Dynamics Limited and the development of the BrahMos missile. He noted considerable enthusiasm among youth for the Agniveer initiative, with 10 lakh Agniveers preparing to serve in the Indian Army.

Continuing his criticism of the opposition, Adityanath lamented their tendency to prioritize political gains over the nation's welfare. He accused them of misleading the youth on critical issues, whereas the current government is focused on integrating these disciplined young soldiers into paramilitary and police roles after their service. This initiative, he noted, is aligned with Prime Minister Modi's vision for military reform and national security.

Adityanath reaffirmed the UP government's commitment to this initiative, highlighting the benefits of having trained and disciplined youth as Agniveers. He urged the continuation of reforms under the Prime Minister's campaign, deemed crucial for the nation's security.
