Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to lay the foundation for two new campuses of Delhi University set to be located in east and west Delhi. A college named after Veer Savarkar is also planned, according to university sources.

Approved by the university's executive council in 2021, the Savarkar College will take shape in Najafgarh and will cost around Rs 140 crore. The prime minister has been invited to the event, although confirmation from the PMO is still pending.

The upcoming east campus in Surajmal Vihar has an estimated cost of Rs 373 crore, while the west campus in Dwarka is projected to cost Rs 107 crore. The university has identified and allotted land in Najafgarh and Fatehpur Beri for these developments.
