Statue of Kargil Hero Capt Haneef Uddin Unveiled at Kerala School

A statue of Capt Haneef Uddin, Vir Chakra awardee and a valiant officer of the Rajputana Rifles, was unveiled at his alma mater in Kerala on Friday in a solemn ceremony. The event saw the presence of Lt Gen ADS Aujla, Colonel of the Rajputana Rifles, and other dignitaries.
Capt Haneef Uddin, who bravely laid down his life in the Turtuk area of Kargil during the Kargil war with Pakistan, was honored for his exceptional courage with a posthumous Veer Chakra award. The statue serves as a tribute to his sacrifice and heroism.
Dedicated by Lt Gen ADS Aujla, the ceremony aimed to inspire the younger generation with Capt Haneef Uddin's values of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism. Organized by ex-students, the event also introduced four scholarships in his name, with Lt Gen Aujla delivering an inspiring speech, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony and scholarship distribution.
