In a heated session at the Bihar assembly, JDU leader Vijay Kumar Choudhary claimed the opposition showed a lack of interest in parliamentary affairs. This allegation came after the opposition staged a walkout on Thursday evening.

Choudhary asserted that the opposition has become frustrated following the Centre's announcement of a special package for Bihar in the Union Budget 2024. He noted that the assembly's primary duties, such as budget approval and legislative work, were ignored by the opposition.

'The opposition has no interest in Parliamentary affairs,' Choudhary stated. He accused the opposition of being disheartened by the special package for Bihar. Choudhary dismissed claims that the ruling party restricted the opposition's opportunities to speak as baseless.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's Budget speech included significant announcements for Bihar, such as infrastructure developments, new airports, and large-scale financial allocations. These projects aim to boost the state's economic and social infrastructure.

Meanwhile, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav accused the BJP-led Centre of deceiving Bihar by not granting 'Special Status' to the state. Yadav criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his silence on the issue and alleged corruption under his governance.
