In a strong endorsement, Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that the Economic Survey 2023-24 indicated the realization of a 'Viksit Bharat' is within reach. The survey, unveiled in Parliament on Monday, highlighted India's impressive economic growth over the last decade.

Shah, taking to the platform X, emphasized, 'The Economic Survey shows that PM Shri @narendramodi Ji's vision of a Viksit Bharat is an imminent possibility. Over the past 10 years, Modi Ji's visionary policies have propelled Bharat to the pinnacle of economic growth.' Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi underscored the survey's documentation of the Indian economy's strengths and the outcomes of governmental reforms.

Showcased by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Economic Survey 2023-24 described the Indian economy's resilience amid global disruptions. It noted a robust post-Covid recovery, with a GDP increase of 20% compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019-20. Also, aiming for sustained progress, the survey identified key areas such as employment, agriculture, and green transition among the government's focus areas for achieving continued growth.

Moving forward, Sitharaman is set to present the Union Budget for 2024-25 on Tuesday. This will mark her seventh Budget speech, surpassing the record of former Prime Minister Morarji Desai. The Economic Survey projects India's growth at 6.5-7% for 2024-25, with global institutions echoing similar figures. Impressively, India's GDP grew at an 8.2% rate for 2023-24, maintaining its status as the world's fastest-growing major economy.
