Prominent PTI Leaders Arrested Outside Pakistani Parliament

Top leaders from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party were apprehended by Islamabad police on Monday following a National Assembly session. Notable individuals, including Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Sher Afzal Khan Marwat, and Advocate Shoaib Shaheen, were detained outside Parliament House.

According to a police spokesperson, Marwat was the first to be taken into custody, allegedly for violating the Peaceful Assembly and Public Order Bill, 2024. PTI has condemned the arrests, labeling them as illegal and a direct attack on democracy.

The PTI further states that these actions reflect the government's fear of Imran Khan and his supporters, and has called for the immediate release of the detained leaders. This event has intensified political tensions and accusations of unlawful conduct by the authorities.
