Supreme Court Petition Seeks Revival of Action on Bhojshala-Kamal Maula Mosque Dispute

The Hindu Front for Justice has approached the Supreme Court to vacate its stay order preventing actions based on the ASI’s report regarding the Bhojshala Temple-Kamal Maula Mosque dispute. The Hindu Front for Justice (HFJ) has petitioned the Supreme Court to vacate a stay preventing action based on an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) report on the Bhojshala Temple-Kamal Maula Mosque dispute. Filed through Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, the plea seeks to lift the interim order dated April 1, 2024.

Earlier, the mosque committee filed a petition contesting a High Court of Madhya Pradesh order from March 11, 2024, which allowed an ASI survey to determine the religious character of the controversial site. The HFJ argues that objections to the report and questions raised can be addressed in the High Court.

The Supreme Court had refused to halt the ASI survey but issued an order on April 1, 2024, restraining action based on the survey's outcome. HFJ asserts that the current stay effectively stalls the High Court proceedings and calls for its immediate revocation. The Supreme Court agreed to consider listing the case earlier this week.
