Asian shares are set to end the week on a sour note as uncertainties across major economies add to headwinds for investors, despite the global rate easing cycle beginning. This week has been tumultuous in markets, driven by a tech sell-off, deepening Sino-U.S. trade tensions, and disappointing Chinese economic data.

Continued uncertainty in the U.S. presidential race and a lacklustre outcome from China's third plenum have cast a long shadow over the global mood. Tokyo's recent interventions in the foreign exchange market have kept traders vigilant. 'We could just be getting a taste of things to come. And that is more turbulence,' said Matt Simpson, senior market analyst at City Index.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan slid 1.56%, marking its worst week in three months. Japan's Nikkei also hit a more than two-week low, extending its sharp fall from the previous session. European and U.S. stock futures showed mixed signals as tech stocks continued to face challenges globally.
