The City of Cape Town has announced the closure of several roads near the Cape Town City Hall in preparation for the Opening of Parliament on Thursday. The closures are intended to manage traffic flow and accommodate the event, where President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to deliver his speech tomorrow evening.

This event marks President Ramaphosa’s first address following his re-election at the inaugural session of the National Assembly for the seventh democratic administration last month.

The city has stated that these road closures will affect the normal flow of traffic in and around the city bowl. Road users are advised to familiarize themselves with the closures and plan their routes accordingly.

“Motorists should also note that there will be restricted parking in some areas,” the city added.

A full list of the road closures can be accessed at City of Cape Town Road Closures.

While some roads have already been closed, others will be closed from as early as 4am on Thursday.
