Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday inaugurated the first phase of a modern apple, fruit, and vegetable market in Panchkula district, offering various benefits for farmers and traders.

To stimulate business, Saini announced a reduction in market fees and the extension of the Haryana Mukhyamantri Kisan Evam Khetihar Mazdoor Jiwan Suraksha Yojana. The age limit for insurance coverage under this scheme increases from 65 to 75 years. Additionally, lightning accidents will now be covered.

Under the Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteen scheme, more subsidized meal canteens will be opened. Saini also announced policy changes, including the removal of compound interest for plot holders and the abolition of the Rural Development Fund fee on fruits and vegetables, extending the Vivadon Ka Samadhan scheme till September 2024.
