The Border Security Force (BSF) troops intercepted a Pakistani drone intruding in the border area of Fazilka district in Punjab on Saturday. The troops immediately engaged the drone with gunfire and activated technical counter-measures to neutralize the illicit device. The movement of the drone was meticulously tracked, sparking an extensive search operation by BSF troops in collaboration with the SSOC Fazilka in an anticipated dropping zone.

At around 05:30 am, the search operation yielded results with the recovery of a drone and a suspicious packet wrapped in yellow packing material. Alongside the packet, a metal ring and a small plastic torch were discovered. The packet contained three pistols and seven empty pistol magazines, found in a farming field adjacent to the village Maharsona in Fazilka district.

The intercepted drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Matrice 300 RTK, reflecting the BSF's unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation's borders. This incident highlights the relentless vigilance and prompt action of the BSF in curbing cross-border threats.

On a related note, earlier on July 11, BSF troops successfully recovered a pistol and a small amount of heroin in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab. According to an official press release, specific intelligence led BSF and Punjab Police to execute an exhaustive search operation, resulting in the recovery of a pistol body sans its upper slide and barrel, and an empty pistol magazine, both wrapped in yellow adhesive tape.
