A 17-year-old girl was arrested for allegedly killing her father and younger brother in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district, a police official said on Friday. Her 22-year-old accomplice, Mukul Singh, who is also her lover, escaped when Haridwar police arrested the girl but later surrendered on Thursday at Civil Lines police station in Jabalpur, fearing he would be held responsible for the entire incident, they said.

The incident occurred in Millennium Colony in Jabalpur district on March 15 this year. The man who died was identified as Rajkumar Vishwakarma, who was working for the Indian Railways. He was living there with his eight-year-old son and his daughter (the accused). According to information, Vishwakarma's wife had passed away around a year ago. Jabalpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Aditya Pratap Singh told ANI, "A double murder of a father-son duo took place in Millennium Colony, Civil Lines area in the district on March 15, in which there are two accused: the minor girl (the deceased's daughter) and Mukul Singh (22). Both of them killed the father-son duo. Our team was continuously probing this case and we went to several states wherever a clue was received about them to collect information."

"In the preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that both the accused started planning to execute the crime in September-October last year. In their statement so far, it has come to light that the accused killed the father-son duo using an axe. To stop the stench, the man's body was wrapped in a plastic sheet and the child was put in the fridge," the officer said. He further added, "We will produce the accused minor girl before the Juvenile Justice Board and will demand that she be tried as an adult."

Further investigation into the matter is underway, the officer added. (ANI)
