Black Lightning Season 3 to have Jennifer, Anissa, Lynn; Season 2’s finale to influence next season

Black Lightning Season 3, The CW’s renowned upcoming third season of American superhero television series Black Lightning, has been confirmed after the rumours of its renewal broke out. Here we have shared the details we have so far with us.

The CW has already renewed Black Lightning Season 3 prior the airing of two episodes of Season 2 that are slated to be aired on March 4 and 11. However, the release or premiere date for Season 3 is yet to be announced.

The good part of this series is that fans who have missed the episodes of Black Lightning Season 1 and Season 2 can watch those online over Netflix. Season 1 was premiered in January 2018 that continued till mid-April whereas Season 2 was aired in October 2018 and its last episode titled ‘The Book of the Apocalypse: Chapter One: The Alpha’ is slated to air on March 11, 2019. Some believe that the third season may follow the similar time schedule, hence it can be released in August or September considering the gap between the first and two seasons.

According to Express, the cast of Black Lightning Season 3 will depend on the fates of the characters by the completion of second season. Fans will surely be glad to know that the core cast from the previous season is almost guaranteed to reprise their roles in the third season.

As the viewers will surely have Cress Williams in the role of Jefferson Pierce or Black Lightning, the protagonist’s family members such as Jennifer Pierce aka Lightning (China Anne McClain), Lynn Pierce (Christine Adams) and Anissa Pierce aka Thunder (Nafessa Williams) are all likely to maintain their presence as they had in the episodes of the second and third seasons.

On the other hand, Black Lightning Season 3 will have reportedly welcome back Bill Henderson (Damon Gupton), Tobias Whale (Marvin ‘Krondon’ Jones III) and Peter Gambi (James Remar). Although the plot is yet to be revealed as Season 2 is still left with two episodes, it is believed that the upcoming season will highly be influenced by how the second season concludes on March 11. Neither trailer nor the synopsis is yet revealed for the third season.
