The Walking Dead Season 9 to show lesbian couple Magna, Yumiko explicitly kissing

Viewers of The Walking Dead Season 9 are going to see a lesbian couple in the upcoming episode slated to be aired on February 10. The series creator has introduced Yumiko (played by Eleanor Matsuura) and Magna (Nadia Hilker) to be explicitly shown as a lesbian couple.

Although The Walking Dead Season 9 earlier hinted that Magna and Yumiko are close to each other, the season has not shown them together as a lesbian couple. Now the viewers, according to Eleanor Matsuura, will surely see them getting intimate in the second half of Season 9. Most importantly, the kissing between the two which both Nadia Hilker and Matsuura really fought for to give the shot.

“We will see a lot more of Magna and Yumiko functioning as a couple, and it’s something that I fought really hard for and Nadia fought really hard for, to make sure we have that inclusion,” Matsuura told Digital Spy.

“So we fought really hard to have a kiss between us included in one of the later episodes, so we'll have that to look forward to,” she added.

The Walking Dead actress further said that she and the team feel proud to represent the LGBTQ community and she (personally) doesn’t take it lightly. “I’ delighted to be representing where I think television and actually all platforms and media need to be going. I’m happy to be part of it,” she further said.

During The Walk Dead Season 9 midseason finale in November, Tom Payne (who played the role of Paul Rovia aka Jesus) made a surprising exit after representing his character as a gay. Even Tara Chambler (played by Alanna Masterson) was the first character identified as LGBT to be introduced in the series.
