Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid fitting tributes to noted freedom fighters J B Kriplani and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on the occasion of their birth anniversary on Monday.
Modi lauded Acharya Kriplani, who was renowned as a Gandhian thinker, for his unwavering commitment to democratic values and social justice during India’s struggle for independence. Kriplani, a former Congress president, later emerged as a key leader of the opposition in post-independence India.
The prime minister also honoured Maulana Azad, India’s first education minister, remembering him as a beacon of knowledge whose vision continues to inspire a developed and empowered India. Modi emphasized Azad’s significant contributions as a thinker and writer in the journey towards India's freedom.
