Ayodhya witnessed an unprecedented turnout for the Chaudah Kosi Parikrama, marking the first event since the consecration of the Ram temple. District Magistrate Chandra Vijay Singh confirmed the successful completion of the pilgrimage, with participation estimates as high as 35 lakh devotees.
The event commenced at precisely 6:32 pm on Saturday. Devotees, chanting 'Jai Shri Ram,' embarked on their 42-kilometer journey after a sacred dip in the Saryu river. The procession's safety was ensured by stringent security arrangements.
Refreshments and essential services, such as mobile toilets and rest houses, were organized by local bodies and various organizations. Participants traveled from within Uttar Pradesh and even from Nepal, highlighting the pilgrimage's widespread spiritual significance.
