Sacred March: Security Tightened for Ayodhya's Chaudah Kosi Parikrama

The sacred city of Ayodhya witnessed the commencement of the annual Chaudah Kosi Parikrama on Saturday evening, drawing lakhs of devotees from across the nation. The religious ceremony, believed to attract even Hindu deities, is enveloped in extensive security able to ensure a peaceful and orderly ritual.
Officials reported the event's timely start at 6.32 PM amid extraordinary security measures. The Chaudah Kosi Parikrama, which sees participants walking approximately 50 kilometres around the temple city, is expected to conclude by Sunday evening, making way for the Panch Kosi Parikrama set to begin Monday evening.
Ayodhya's Senior Superintendent of Police, Raj Karan Nayyar, emphasized the layered security framework in place. Forces including civil police, CRPF's Rapid Action Force, and ATS are deployed to monitor the procession. Surveillance includes around 200 CCTV cameras and various checkpoints, ensuring thorough oversight throughout the Parikrama area.
