Ayodhya witnessed a spectacular achievement as two new Guinness World Records were established at the eighth edition of Deepotsav. The event, held in the sacred city, set records for the most people performing aarti simultaneously and the largest display of oil lamps.

The grand spectacle saw over 25 lakh earthen lamps illuminating the city, while 1,121 'vedacharyas' synchronously performed aarti. Pravin Patel, a Guinness World Records adjudicator, visited Ayodhya with consultant Nischal Bharot to verify and announce these remarkable feats on Wednesday evening.

Patel lauded UP Tourism and other local administrative bodies for meeting all guidelines needed to achieve these records. Deepotsav has been celebrated in Ayodhya since 2017, on the eve of Diwali, along the sacred banks of the Saryu River.
