In a historical first, the Border Security Force (BSF) is embarking on an all-women river rafting expedition covering more than 2,500 kilometers. This endeavor is themed around 'female empowerment' and 'clean Ganga,' drawing national attention to these crucial causes.
The team, comprising 20 women from the BSF, is collaborating with the National Mission for Clean Ganga. Their 53-day voyage commenced on November 2 in Devprayag and will conclude at Gangasagar on December 26. The expedition carries symbolic importance, with the Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Paatil flagging them off at Haridwar.
Throughout their journey, the team will stop at eight major cities, including Prayagraj and Varanasi, hosting public awareness campaigns. BSF Director General Daljit Singh Chawdhary will recognize their efforts upon completion. Notably, the BSF continues to expand its operational reach with women at the forefront, both at international borders and in domestic security roles.
