Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar urged the current generation of historians to bring attention to overlooked figures of India's freedom movement. His call to action was voiced during the inaugural convocation of Raja Mahendra Pratap University.

The university, a symbol of the celebrated freedom fighter Raja Mahendra Pratap's legacy, acknowledges his critical role in shaping India's history. Dhankhar lauded Pratap for his pivotal role in creating India's first provisional government in exile in 1915 from Kabul.

Not only a freedom fighter, Raja Mahendra Pratap was also a pioneer in education reform, founding institutions like Mathura's Prem Mahavidyalaya. Dhankhar highlighted his devotion to both education and independence, urging historians to uncover stories of similar gallant figures.
