Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2024: Celebrating the Global Indian Community

Odisha's Janata Maidan is set to host the prestigious 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas from January 8 to 10, 2024, following the approval of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The event is a joint venture between the Odisha government and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), with several committees formed to ensure smooth execution.
A notable lineup of dignitaries, including President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other Union Ministers, is expected to attend. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to participate in the main event on January 9 and will launch the Pravasi Bharatiya Teerth Express.
The three-day event anticipates more than 5,000 members from the Indian diaspora worldwide. Attendees will be treated to a tour of Odisha, exploring the state's rich cultural heritage and historical significance. Celebrated on January 9, the day commemorates Mahatma Gandhi's historic return to Mumbai from South Africa in 1915.
