Renowned producer Ekta Kapoor and her mother, Shobha Kapoor, are embroiled in a legal controversy following accusations of displaying offensive content involving minor girls in their web series 'Gandi Baat'. A police complaint has been lodged against them under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The allegations pertain to an episode from season 6 of 'Gandi Baat', a series streamed on ALT Balaji between February and April 2021. Legal proceedings initiated by Mumbai Police at the MHB police station also invoke charges under section 295-A of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act.
While the contested episode is reportedly no longer available for streaming, attention shifts to Ekta Kapoor's recent cinematic release. Her latest drama, 'Love, Sex aur Dhokha 2', helmed by Dibakar Banerjee, hit theaters on April 19, confronting the modern paradox of digital connection and isolation.
