In a tragic turn of events, a Mumbai Police sub-inspector was severely injured on Tuesday after falling into an open drain while performing an inquest panchnama in Borivali.
The mishap occurred during the investigation of an unidentified body located near a bridge, according to official reports.
Officer Mukesh Kharat lost his balance, plummeting 15 feet into the drain. Rushed to Hinduja Hospital, he is currently in the ICU battling a head injury. The officer, who recently entered matrimony, remains under intensive care.
