In a heartfelt tribute, Air India, Air India Express, and Vistara honored the late Ratan Tata with inflight announcements on Thursday. The 86-year-old Tata, who was the Tata Group patriarch and cherished aviation, passed away on Wednesday night in Mumbai.

As the airlines, all part of the Tata Group, paid homage to Tata, their staff reflected on his immense contributions to Indian aviation. Air India CEO Campbell Wilson emphasized Tata's significant impact on the sector, while Vistara CEO Vinod Kannan described Tata's passion for aviation as a source of inspiration for the group and the nation.

International partners and rival airlines alike, including Singapore Airlines, Indigo, SpiceJet, and Akasa Air, joined in mourning Tata's passing and celebrating his visionary leadership, which continued to drive innovation and industry growth in India. Reflecting this profound loss, Airbus canceled an event in his honor.
