In an interview with ANI, Gnanavel delved into the genesis of the film's narrative. 'I was asked if I had a compelling story to tell,' he recounted. 'I shared a plot that resonated with the audience and the producers. They embraced it, and that's how 'Vettaiyan' came to life.'

The recently released trailer showcases a potent storyline involving a controversial police officer, played by Rajinikanth, confronting the boundaries of justice. Amitabh Bachchan's character, Sathyadev, questions the ethics of encounter killings with his poignant line, 'Justice delayed is justice denied; justice hurried is justice buried.'
