Renowned music composer Pritam has been awarded the prestigious National Film Award for Best Music Direction, for his work on the film 'Brahmastra Part One: Shiva'. The honor was bestowed upon him by President Droupadi Murmu during a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

Expressing his excitement to ANI, Pritam remarked, 'I am very excited, it feels really good to be here for the National Awards. It feels great when we get love. It gives us pleasure when people like our work.' This award serves as a significant motivation for him and his creative ventures.

The film 'Brahmastra Part One: Shiva' not only garnered praise for its music but also emerged victorious in other categories. Arijit Singh won Best Male Playback Singer for the song 'Kesariya', and the film claimed the title of Best Film in AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects Gaming & Comic). Under Ayan Mukerji's direction, the film's VFX Supervisors Jaykar Arudra, Viral Thakkar, and Neelesh Gore contributed to its success in visual storytelling.

This film serves as the inception of a planned trilogy within the Astraverse, created by filmmaker Ayan Mukerji. It stars prominent actors including Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni. The narrative centers on a DJ named Shiva, who discovers his unique connection with the fire element and his ability to wield the Brahmastra, a formidable weapon with universe-altering potential. The winners of the 70th National Film Awards were declared in August 2024, following delays attributed to the Covid pandemic.

In addition to this achievement, other notable actors such as Allu Arjun, Alia Bhatt, and Kriti Sanon were acknowledged for their distinctive performances in their respective films 'Pushpa', 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', and 'Mimi' at the 2023 National Film Awards.
