Actor Govinda was discharged from Criticare hospital on Friday after sustaining an accidental gunshot wound to his leg earlier in the week. The 60-year-old actor, recognized for his roles in films such as 'Partner' and 'Dulhe Raja,' was injured when his revolver accidentally discharged.

The incident occurred early Tuesday as Govinda was preparing to fly out for a show in Kolkata. He explained to reporters that the weapon 'just fell and went off,' causing a 'fountain of blood' injury requiring immediate surgery. Govinda, a member of the Shiv Sena political party, emerged from the hospital in a wheelchair, supported by his family.

Dr. Ramesh Agarwal tended to the actor, stating that the bullet struck below the left knee, necessitating 8-10 stitches. The Mumbai police and crime branch are investigating; however, no complaints have been filed. The actor thanked fans and well-wishers, stating he hopes his situation serves as a cautionary tale.
