Hindu Mahasabha activists staged a protest in Gwalior city of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, demanding the cancellation of the India-Bangladesh cricket match scheduled for October 6. The activists cited atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh as the reason for their demonstration.
The right-wing organization has called for a bandh in Gwalior on October 6, aligning with the date of the match. City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Ashok Jadon confirmed that 20 workers from the Mahasabha have been arrested for staging the protest without permission, and preventive measures are being taken.
According to CSP Jadon, the protesters had planned to march to the stadium. Hindu Mahasabha's vice president, Jaiveer Bhardwaj, appealed to the Central government and the BCCI to cancel the T20 match. Bhardwaj stated that Mahasabha workers had organized a procession starting from the Daulatganj area.
