Governor Parnaik Champions Clean Environment in Arunachal Pradesh on Swachh Bharat Diwas

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (retd) K T Parnaik emphasised the importance of cleanliness for mental well-being during 'Swachh Bharat Diwas'. He praised the efforts of the people in state-wide cleanliness drives and urged communities to maintain their environment. Parnaik presented awards and highlighted the state's tourism potential.

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (retd) K T Parnaik highlighted the significance of a clean environment for fostering positive vibes and mental well-being during the 'Swachh Bharat Diwas' celebrations on Wednesday. Parnaik asserted that cleanliness should be a routine practice ingrained in tribal culture and traditions.

The Governor commended citizens for their active participation in state-wide cleanliness drives, noting that such efforts are a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He stressed that the Safai Abhiyan initiative will promote a healthy environment and a robust mindset, significantly contributing to a developed India, or 'Viksit Bharat'.

Parnaik extended his greetings on Gandhi Jayanti, expressing hope that the occasion would continue to inspire adherence to Mahatma Gandhi's message of cleanliness. He acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi's role in transforming Swachh Bharat into a 'jan andolan' or people's movement.

In addition, the Governor spotlighted Arunachal Pradesh's immense tourism potential and urged officials, community leaders, and youth to contribute actively to preserving the state's pristine environment and biodiversity. During the event, various departments, NGOs, self-help groups, and volunteers who excelled in cleanliness efforts were honored with 'Swachhata Hi Seva' awards. Chief Minister Pema Khandu was also in attendance.
